Job Description

Job Purpose (Job Summary): Supervise operation support for Derivatives instruments including matching of trades, margins and support collateral management. Exercises independent judgment while researching and resolving time critical and risk sensitive issues and recon breaks. This position requires a self-motivated individual to take a leading role in the fast paced, deadline driven, and regulated environment. He/she will be responsible to ensure that the daily operations support is seamless while actively exploring & pursuing continuous process improvement opportunities.Key Responsibilities / Duties :

  • Monitor workflow and productivity for respective group members and take appropriate action to ensure that Derivatives tasks are completed on time.
  • Review the various tasks performed related to Derivatives and review posting of manual trades in systems
  • Participate in regular meetings/conference calls with all the parties.
  • Independently complete more complex analysis and review reports produced by the team
  • Actively participate in projects and ensure all issues are promptly logged and project deadlines are met. Perform UAT and rollout support.
  • Involved in recruitment of new staff, formalizing a training plan and working with other teams as required for smooth on-boarding
  • Review and signoff on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Derivatives Support global operational procedures
  • Build strong business relationship with internal and external stakeholders (application vendors, brokers, custodians)
  • Review manual tasks and build control to mitigate risk. Take lead in completion of automation/continuous improvement of daily operations processes
  • Proactively contribute ideas and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor attendance and manage leaves
  • Prepare and present the performance reporting and other statistics on a monthly/ad-hoc basis with the management.
  • Guide and provide feedback to staff on their development and ways of improvement that could enhance personal skills and knowledge to meet business objectives
  • Motivate individuals/team through use of rewards & recognition.
  • Providing prompt and accurate feedback on individual performance on monthly, half-yearly and yearly basis as part of Performance Management/Appraisals.
Working Conditions:
  • Staggering shift work is required on a rotational basis and as defined by manager to provide global business coverage depending on project, assignment or daily trade activity
  • Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures.
  • Rotating support coverage is required for international markets that are open during statutory holidays
  • Participate in Business Recovery testing on an as-needed basis as defined by manager
  • Off hours support and travel may be required
Work Experience / Knowledge:
  • Sound knowledge of investment products globally is required
  • Knowledge of Derivative Instruments and EQ/FI Trade Life Cycle
  • Must have a working knowledge of 7-11 years of experience in Investment Industry
  • A good understanding of the Derivatives Products (Futures, Swaps, Options) and the confirmation and settlement processes for these instruments

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals is required.
  • Must show the ability to make quick decisions, establish priorities and concentrate on detailed information under pressure on a daily basis.
  • This includes the ability to handle time critical situations while meeting rigorous deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to analyse detailed numerical data.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Must be adept in all Microsoft Office programs, with a special emphasis in Excel.
  • Ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical.
  • Must establish and maintain relationships with internal teams.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to actively participate in projects.
  • Desire to learn new and complex financial instruments and processes.
  • Willingness to participate in the development and enhancement processes and productivity.
Formal Education: ( minimum requirement to perform job duties)A Bachelor s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math or related field (or an equivalent combination of education, training, experience that would provide the knowledge, skills and ability required),
