Job Description

" Position Description Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design technical specifications and perform quality checks on the given data that meet the business requirements
  • Understand Business Intelligence (BI) best practices, tools, technologies and security in the environment
  • Understand different data warehousing and dimensional modelling concepts, BI development, performance tuning and support system testing
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and SMEs to understand business needs and help define requirements for reporting solutions
  • Analyze and report data gaps and issues
  • Develop detail design documents, data structure diagrams and code assets supporting the Reporting implementation
  • Ensure quality assurance by unit test activities including the development of test cases and publication of unit test results
  • Execute manual test cases for application or system functionality and perform analysis to ensure that it meets design specifications
  • Document testing results; troubleshoot and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Adhere to quality processes in support of the development and production change management processes
  • Provide testing status to appropriate IT management
  • Participate in system and integration test; identifies and remedies solution defects
  • Create other technical artifacts needed for project implementation
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Payer or Provider domain experience in Healthcare
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server (SQL 2008 and above)
  • Experience in various testing types such as black box, white box, functional, integration, UAT and Performance Testing as a Tester/QA
  • Experience in working with sensitive/de-identified data environments
  • Experience in working with encrypted and secure data transfers Knowledge and experience with writing and executing Microsoft SQL queries; including the ability to load and manipulate data
  • Working experience with relational databases and must be able to write complex T-SQL code
  • Knowledge of end to end SDLC from project inception to deployment
  • Excellent SQL skills and ability to create T-SQL/stored procedures
  • Configuration Management using Microsoft Team Foundation Server and/or other version control tools Proficiency in Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Windows 8, Office 2013, Visual Studio 2012, SQL Server Management Studio 2008/2012/2016, Team Foundation Server 2012
  • Effective communication skills, including client interfacing, business writing and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of the different data sources; e.g. Flat Files, MS Excel, SQL Server etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, follow standards and effectively raise critical issues with the client
  • Ability to validate the data quality for the migrated/provided data using manual as well as SQL logic
  • Ability to execute test cases and document actual results
  • Ability to work in a matrixed team environment with distributed responsibility across different teams
  • Ability to work and deliver in a very high paced environment with limited information at times to support business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to Cognos/Tableau or any other reporting tool
  • Excellent in SSIS and VB .Net
