Job Description

Senior iSeries Programmer for FO and OTC Clearing technology group to work on GMI. Stream GMI is a financial accounting system used to process futures, OTC and equity products, GMI is used by the majority of the world s largest banks for this purpose. Unlike distributed software systems which run processes on multiple networked computers, GMI is designed to run on an IBM AS/400 computer which was rebranded as the IBM iSeries, and currently, System i.

India team engages with the LOB counterparts contributing towards strategic and BAU project deliverables. We will be developing and supporting applications specific to our LOB/application (GMI) by using the core components or by developing our own components using latest iSeries programming techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Possess a high level of analytical and creative skills, Participate and provide suggestions in technical design discussions
  • Interact with Business Partners and come up with solutions, Responsible for functional delivery of assigned applications
  • Designs, develops, enhance, debugs, supports, maintain and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions.
  • Be a seasoned and proficient technical resource, Flexibility in adapting to team requirements,
  • Ensuring adherence to development standards, best practices and ensuring high quality levels in all deliverables
  • Participate and contribute to Team/Project Reviews
  • Effectively convey message in both written and verbal development discussions
  • Adhere to team s governing principles and policies
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and zeal to acquire domain knowledge

Requirements

Education: BE/ B. Tech/ M. Tech/ MCA

Certifications If Any: NA

Experience Range: 4 - 7 Years

Mandatory skills

  • 4 - 7 years of relevant experience
  • Strong programming skills in RPGLE Free format, CLLE, SQLRPGLE
  • Strong knowledge of AS400 commands
  • Strong experience in Query Manager
  • Strong SQL knowledge and understanding of databases
  • Strong Technical Documentation skills
  • Good Analytical, Debugging and design skills
  • Batch/Production Support Experience
  • Must be a self starter, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desired skills

  • Work experience in Finance/ Capital Markets Domain
