Job DescriptionSummary of the PositionShift (2 to 11 PM)This is a hands- on supervisory position responsible for the development and maintenance of software applications at USP, which include Oracle E- Business Suite application, online compendial products, data warehouse and business intelligence system and other business applications. The incumbent leads a team of software developers and oversees the development of software applications utilizing both waterfall and agile methodologies in a fast- paced and rapidly changing global organization. He/ she works closely with IT application managers, project managers and architects in the US to understand business requirements and software design specifications, manage the software development activities in India, and deliver the solutions to meet project timeline and quality standard. He/ she helps establish and implement application development strategies, policies, procedures and processes to ensure high- quality software development and maintenance.Roles and ResponsibilitiesPlays a significant role in the development and implementation of application strategies, roadmaps, policies, procedures and processesProvides technical management of software developers in the development and maintenance of software applicationsProvides leadership and supervision for a team of software developers. Participating in mentoring, performance management and hiring of staffDrives software engineering efforts and manages multiple priorities to deliver enhancements and changes to software applications in a timely mannerDevelops best practices for software development team for efficiency and qualityResponsible for producing and delivering high- quality software applications on scheduleWorks closely with IT application development managers, project managers and business analysts in the US to understand business requirements and software design specifications, and translates them into development work assignments to the teamWorks closely with software quality assurance team in the US to test the software applications and fix any reported issuesWorks closely with the operations team on deployment of software applications.Required SkillsBasic QualificationsBachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information systems, or related field8 to 10 years of experience in software development, information system engineering and application production support, including technical management of software development projectsMinimum of 5 years of people management experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in managing software development projects with customers in the USExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate with business stakeholders and IT staff members in the US to determine system requirements, processes and data flowsAbility to work creatively and analytically in a problem- solving environmentResult- driven with demonstrated success in developing and delivering software applications for US customersHands- on, detail- oriented and collaborative management style with proven management skills to oversee a development team with a demonstrated progression in technical experience and management responsibilities.Required ExperiencePreferred QualificationsMaster s degree is preferredExperience with developing software applications using Java/ J2EE and web servicesExperience with building and maintaining Oracle E- Business Suite applicationExperience with building and maintaining data warehouse and business intelligence systemsAbility to influence without direct authorityAbility to handle multiple priorities in a fast- paced environmentJob LocationHyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, IndiaPosition TypeFull- Time/ RegularJob Category Information Technology,
