Department Name : PlatformPD PROCESS BRIEF The Product Development department is responsible for designing , implementing , and enhancing analytical reports and applications that serve all of FactSet s clients.Within Product Development , the Office Integration Product Development team works closely with application engineers , QA , salespeople , consultants and clients to ensure that current and future applications meet and exceed client expectations. The team oversees strategy for and development of FactSet s suite of Microsoft Office - integrated applications including Sidebar , =FDS Codes , Productivity Suite , Source Document Manager , Template Library , ActiveGraph , ActiveFields , Data Downloading and Quick Report. These products help FactSet s clients work more efficiently in Excel , Word , PowerPoint , Outlook and OneNote.Within the Platform Product Development team , the Associate Product Specialists interact with multiple groups at FactSet to analyze , develop , test and support FactSet s Office Integration products. The position is perfect for a technically inclined candidate who enjoys working with financial data and has the ability to collaborate across multiple groups at FactSetJOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a Platform PD team member : Analyze data sets to aid application development and product management decisions Usage analysis to drive requirements and retirement decisions Create user lists to ensure product rollouts are communicated successfully Conduct application performance analysis to identify areas for speed improvement Distill helpdesk logs and visit summaries on a weekly basis and report trends and insights back to the larger product team Support the overall Office Integration Product Development team with ad hoc requests for data analysis Provide application support , maintenance , and guidance for internal users Build and maintain a strong level of expertise on product features Respond to bug reports , questions and enhancement requests in a timely manner Maintain the product backlog Debug technical application issues to identify root causes and potential solutions Create custom charts , styles and templates for use in ActiveGraph as requested by client - facing teams Manage internal documentation in Online Assistant and internal FAQ site Assist in quality assurance for all assigned applicationsPrebuild testing to ensure changes and enhancements function as specified Content testing to ensure data is correct , consistent and meaningful Performance testing to ensure the speed and efficiency of application Regression testing to ensure essential application tests are constructed Interface with key stakeholders to ensure efficient application developmentWork alongside Product Managers to translate user needs into requirements Collaborate with Engineers and QA to deliver features according to the specifications Coordinate communication with Sales & Consulting for new product rollouts , and establish channels for ongoing feedback JOB REQUIREMENTS Computer science graduate (BTech / MTech) & MBA Finance Minimum 2 years of related experience in Debugging , Testing , Application Performance Analysis , Coding in Microsoft Excel and / or VBA , Data Analysis , Software Development Life Cycle Expert level skill with Microsoft Office Applications is a must (Excel , VBA , Word & PowerPoint) Ability to create and review documentation of test Plans Articulate communicator with excellent written and oral ability (English) Strong organizational skills with an ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Results - oriented with the tenacity to solve difficult problems Good team player Strong analytical and problem - solving skills Attention to detail and ability to see big picture Familiarity and a high level of interest in financial analysis Willingness to align with U.S. hours to facilitate collaboration Curiosity and a desire to learn Preferred Skills : Exposure / Knowledge on Enterprise Software from FactSet , Thomson Reuters , Bloomberg or Capital IQKnowledge on Terms used in Financial statements and Markets is highly desirable.Certified as Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert / Master,
