Job Description

The Impact:

Leads and directly impacts the professional and/or technical direction and strategy for a discipline or a core product including shaping and designing new policies, procedures and standards

What s in it for you:

Associate Director, Data Services will be responsible managing and leading several data services (API) and application development team focused on API delivery, talent and resource management, aligning to our overall technology strategy and roadmap.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of strategic initiatives and BAU in a timely manner working with various stakeholders.
  • Provide effective leadership and exercise day-to-day management of assigned staff. Set priorities among competing goals and objectives and coordinates simultaneous workflows to ensure efficient contribution to SP objectives.
  • Promote an organization that is focused on outstanding customer service, high performance, team work, and accountability.
  • Ensure roles and responsibilities are well defined with clearly identified goals, objectives and process in place.
  • Contribute to and support SP enterprise architecture, strategic roadmaps, transformation from current state to future state.
  • Develop agile practices with continuous development, continuous integration deployments, cloud enablement
  • Leadership on talent acquisition, talent development and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with global technology leadership, regional leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Create an open and professional working environment

What We re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science
  • Technical hands-on experience either current or in the recent past
  • Solid foundation in data engineering in design / development
  • 10 years or more of technology leadership position with 5 years or more in financial industry
  • Onsite experience in a client facing role with offshore service delivery
  • Proven ability to manage and operate in a global environment
  • Proven ability and experience delivering on large-scale projects
  • Experience with end to end data management, API delivery, Cloud based platforms, Devops, Automation
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies like SCRUM, Kanban
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor individuals and teams
  • Strong understanding of Java/JEE design patterns, packaging, and deployment is required including (Spring, Hibernate, Spring WS)
  • Experience building service oriented architectures: SOAP, REST, Microservices, Cloud and API standards (Apache Camel, Apache CXF)
  • Experience architecting enterprise data solutions
  • Proven experience with Apache/Tomcat, Java/J2EE, IIS/.Net, Oracle
  • Experience with building and deploying data solutions on Cloud such as AWS is a plus
