Job Description

The Balance Sheet Analytics Team is a new dedicated function within the Finance organization under the Global Head of Financial Planning Analysis (FPA).

The team will drive thorough analysis of strategic initiatives and growth opportunities, financial statements, business profitability and key regulatory requirements

The successful candidate will partner with various other functions (e.g. Treasury, Corporate Strategy, Regulatory Capital). The team will also work closely with Business Unit Finance and other dedicated analytics teams within Finance (e.g. Revenue Analytics, Client Profitability and Centralized Reporting).

Responsibilities Tasks Include:
  • Business unit balance sheet reporting and analytics
  • Analysis of profitability metrics such as Return on Capital (ROC) and Net Interest Margin (NIM)
  • Understanding key business trends (e.g. areas of growth, monitoring deposit trends, FX trading)
  • Analysis of capital deployment strategies such as stock repurchases, acquisitions, balance sheet expansion, business reinvestment, etc
  • Analysis of business unit and client-level regulatory and other capital / liquidity metrics such as CET1, Supplementary Leverage Ratio, Tier 1 Leverage and Liquidity Coverage Ratio

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor s with 8 10 years relevant experience or Master s with min 4-6 years of experience ideally covering multiple of the following:
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Excellent understanding of key financial statements, specifically a bank s balance sheet
  • In-depth knowledge of complex financial products and businesses
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Ability to execute and drive results with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work confidently and build strong relationships.
  • Team player and self-starter, must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio), advanced levels of excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic macros, excel workbook maintenance best practices)
  • Must possess strong communication skills with ability to participate in or lead conference calls and present financial results to financial and non-financial audiences at various levels of seniority
  • Solid business knowledge as it relates to the financial services industry
  • Financial product and institutional knowledge
  • Results oriented ownership mindset
  • Ability to multi-task and work under high pressure deadlines
