Job Description

  • Supporting Chennai laboratory with day to day analysis of data / recommendations for updates.
    • Support clinical studies.
    • Develop an active understanding of the external QA program and be an active member of the laboratory QA team.
  • Develop a statistical services program for the IVD customers (28 as of date)
    • Each customer to have a quarterly review of their data. Analysis of the data / written report / recommendations for changes.
    • Be in a position to provide basic training to customers, with regard to the statistical principles behind the risk algorithm.
    • Develop a deep understanding of Lifecycle software, to support on-going training and to understand, the opportunities for localisation in Lifecycle (cut-offs, additional biomarkers, population parameter changes, local truncation limits etc).
  • Troubleshooting
    • Provide active support for the laboratory and all customers in India, to analyse data, understand problem, provide timely feedback.
    • Communicate with Turku if required.
  • Support clinical studies in India
    • Work with Prof. Cuckle understand power calculations. Develop understanding of different types of clinical studies, required, to support uptake of new screening modalities in India.
    • Support analysis of study data.
  • Develop an understanding of Health Economic Analysis
    • Work with Diagnostic team, to support development of tools, to enable physicians to develop business cases, for adoption of new biomarkers.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum MSc, preferably Phd.
  • Should be an applied Statistician (not theoretical).
  • Should enjoy working with data and analysing data as opposed to working with different statistical models
  • Medical / lab background would be an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of statistics, specifically
    • Regression analysis
    • Other Comparison analysis (correlation, Bland-Altman plots)
    • Precision calculations: CV% and variation components (this can be taught)
  • Ability to use statistical software packages, at least menu-based, preferably code based
  • Ability to read and write software codes is a plus -> this is needed when bigger datasets are compiled and analysed
  • Knowledge of R skills is mandatory
