Description

As a Build Tooling Engineer, you re a key stakeholder and an owner of the build and deployment infrastructure at Resolver. You ll build and improve the tooling used to accelerate a 6-person (and growing) development team. Working with the latest distributed build server technology, you ll also build and maintain a modern infrastructure as code initiative. Your Deliverables:

Installers (50%)

• Design and develop the software installer(s) for production deployment of new product releases, upgrades and patches for Java, Apache Tomcat, HTTPD, Jaspersoft Report Server, MySQL and Oracle-based Enterprise Applications
• Write product installer functional and design specifications as well as respond to requirements and/or design documents
• To document install processes and procedures, conduct training and perform any other tasks that will enable the product install team to provide better support

Measures of success: Consistent improvements on installer projects to add new features and implement user-friendly installers; versatile CI/CD process implementations.

Build and Deployment (50%)

• Develop and maintain our product build packaging, installer and configuration framework by leveraging technologies and enhancing the install automation for our product deployments meeting the highest standards
• Create and maintain custom setup and deployment solutions (packaging/authoring) and help releasing the product patches by modifying or developing the required installation framework
• Maintain and enhance the CI/CD process using Jenkins and CruiseConrol (on both Windows and Linux).
• Effectively work and interface with all functional teams like Development, QA, Technical Writers and Project Managers around the release of new features and functionalities
• Work with Technical Support and Customers to help resolve product install and configuration issues and escalations quickly by providing the creative solutions to complex installation problems -
• Troubleshoot software installation configuration issues on supported Operating Systems - Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016

Measures of success: Maintain and enhance the Build and Release process internally; upon Quality confirmation product release for deployment.

Your Background

• A Degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent stream with 3-5 years of proven industry experience in software product install technologies with strong administration and support experience with a good understanding of Oracle DB and Middleware Products
• Strong knowledge of various Software Product Installer Authoring Tools like InstallShield (using Install script projects and basic MSI) Advanced Installer, Install Anywhere, Windows Installer, and Oracle provided tools to package and create installer as applicable
• Working knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins, Cruise-Control, Jira etc.is mandatory.
• Hands on experience in Version Control Systems like Git, SVN, BitBucket are needed.
• Windows operating system knowledge and experience
• Strong hands-on scripting experience with Perl/ Shell / Batch is must and good Java knowledge is desirable
• Understanding of database concepts, SQL Scripting is required. Hands-on experience on MySQL and Oracle are preferred.
• Experience with server virtualization like VMware and Hyper-V is a plus
• Experience in build, install/upgrade framework development for large enterprise software products with complex inter-dependencies
• Rich experience with SCM process, concepts, tools, and methodologies is must. You must also have strong hands-on working experience with Configuration Management tools.
• Good understanding of SSL certificates, signing in executables using azure key vault.
• Good SDLC knowledge and must have supported at least one large full life cycle project
• Ability to communicate in an international business environment with excellent spoken and written skills
• Good Experience on Apache HTTPD compilation with FIPS compliant.
• Working experience with repository/builds tools for Continuous Integration
• Exposure to AWS cloud services
