Job Description

    DATA CENTER OPERATIONS
    • Planned Maintenance & Coordination:
    • Communicate scheduled maintenance activities to all relevant support groups and user communities.
    • Perform power-off and power-on procedures for data centre devices.
    • Coordinate with OEMs and third-party vendors for racking, stacking, and maintenance of equipment.
    • Work closely with service provider DC teams to manage daily operations.
    • Data Centre Access & Documentation:
    • Maintain the Data Centre access register for customer environments.
    • Ensure accurate record-keeping of inward and outward movement of assets.
    • Track and log tape movements for backup and archival purposes.
    • Update and maintain DC documentation as provided by the customer.
    • Incident & Vendor Management:
    • Assist remote teams in incident management when servers or network devices are inaccessible.
    • Coordinate with vendors for activities such as firmware upgrades, hardware fixes, and component replacements.
    • Provide console access for servers and switches as required.
    • Asset & Compliance Management:
    • Conduct physical health checks for servers, storage, and network devices.
    • Work with the customers designated audit team during site audits.
    • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
    • Operational Support:
    • Support scratch media insertion and completed media ejection activities.
    • Ensure the Asset Management team maintains accurate DC inventory records.
