Job Description

  • Review issues, logs, errors to troubleshoot service tickets supporting a suite of tools used by end users
  • Ensure integration of multiple analytic platforms to make our data science toolkit easier to work with for end users
  • Develop processes to monitor Linux/Unix system performance and resource usage
  • Develop backup, restore and mirroring strategies to ensure a highly available platform
  • Address performance and scalability issues and perform necessary capacity planning to meet new business initiatives
  • Ensure security of the environment by managing/applying permissions and encryption standards
  • Identify gaps in existing process documentation, or areas where processes in development need further specification and sometimes create it
  • Deliver professional level technical work in support of the development of products, tools, platforms and services
  • Operate within established methodologies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Apply knowledge of principles and techniques to solve technical problems through architecture design
  • Translate complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Maintain servers for the Data Science Workbench using configuration management tools (like Chef, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Work hands on with technologies and mock-up designs during software evaluations, PoCs and pilots
Required Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with RHEL Linux system design and administration, scripting, programming, automation and networking
  • Hands-on experience of storage, monitoring, and alerting
  • Docker, Kubernetes, container Orchestration or micro services
  • Proficiency in understanding R, Python, and Unix code
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience in engineering Big Data solutions within the Hadoop or distributed ecosystems (Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, Hive, Hbase, Sqoop, Kafka or streaming)
  • Hands-on experience in managing Data Science tools and Packages like JupyterHub, Rstudio, Zeppelin, H20 Flow, etc.
  • Hands-on experience in engineering software platforms and large-scale data infrastructures
  • Hands-on experience in integrating a variety of solutions
  • Hands-on experience in supporting and implementing various security requirements
