Job Description

Position Description Primary Responsibilities:

• Review business requirements
• Demonstrate understanding of applicable business processes and how they add value to the business
• Demonstrate understanding of application architecture and how business logic integrates with it
• Evaluate and drive new project development
• Adhere to applicable enterprise development methodologies and processes
• Review and fully understand application/system designs
• Anticipate design scalability and ensure inclusion in application/system designs
• Perform and participate in all required design reviews
• Develop technical specifications/design documents as defined in application/system designs
• Ensure compliance with application code standards
• Ensure that technical specifications/design documents are clearly and comprehensively documented, understood and traceable to the application/system design
• Demonstrate understanding of applicable data models and enterprise data standards
• Work with database teams to evaluate and establish applicable database technical requirements
• Account for applicable security requirements in technical specifications/design documents
• Ensure that technical specifications/design documents optimize application/systems performance
• Ensure appropriate integration/interface with applicable partner specifications/design documents
• Develop application/system code as defined in technical specifications
• Create unit test plans, executes unit testing and documents results to ensure that code works as designed
• Ensure that application/system code is clearly and comprehensively developed and traceable back to technical specifications
• Incorporate scaling capability into application/system code as applicable
• Ensure integration with testing groups
• Conduct all required reviews (e.g., code coverage, code reviews, test plan reviews), as applicable
• Review and troubleshoot potential coding issues
• Validate technical compliance application/system designs
• Demonstrate clear understanding of how the application may be impacted in all aspects of the testing process (e.g., regression testing)
• Analyze/fix defects identified in testing (e.g., root cause analysis)
• Partner with applicable groups (e.g., QA) to review and provide feedback on testing scenarios
• Identify scenarios that may require regression testing, and communicate to appropriate testing groups (e.g., QA)
• Work with Infrastructure Services to resolve issues identified in specific testing environments
• Provide testing documentation to applicable groups (e.g., release notes, change requests, use cases)
• Work with configuration/release management to develop release plans that ensure proper applications deployment
• Ensure that the deployment process is fully documented and compliant with all operational requirements for the application/system
• Communicate and ensure full understanding of application/system changes to applicable groups, in order to facilitate ongoing application stability
• Participate in the application deployment process, as needed
• Provide ongoing expertise to operational support groups (e.g., Systems Support) in order to address identified application problems/issues, as requested
• Ensure that operational documentation is updated to include system maintenance/update changes
• Ensure that system maintenance/updates adhere to security standards

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• Extensive application development expertise in Oracle DB
• Agile/Scrum
• Unit Testing and System Testing with Automated tools
• Good presentation skills, active listening, negotiation/influencing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hadoop development Sqoop, Oozie, Hbase, Hive, MapReduce
• Core Java and frameworks like spring, hibernate
• DevOps - Continuous Integration and Deployment using tools like Maven, Jenkins
• SAFe Scaled Agile Framework
