Job Description

Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.Provide Development and Production support for databases. This includes creating primary database storage structures; designing and creating primary objects; modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance; monitoring and optimizing performance of the database; planning for backup and recovery of the database; allocating system storage and planning future storage needs; and creating database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments.Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. 3 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM*s or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. This team provides operational support and expert advice to our application development teams. As a member of this team, you are responsible for installing, configuring, administering, monitoring and optimizing resources on our enterprise database systems. BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION You will be in a global internal support team to: Provide internal production system (Oracle database on Linux and Solaris platform) and Cloud systems support Design production architecture, migration/upgrade solutions Help development team to improve Oracle product quality Research new technologies across technology stacks and infrastructure layers DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION As part of this team, responsibilities include: Design production system architecture Ensure production system stability and availability Plan and deploy production system migration/upgrade System debugging and performance tuning Research new technologies includes but not limited to Database/Storage/Linux JOB REQUIREMENTS Education DEGREE/MAJOR Graduation mandatory (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related BS/MS degree) Any Unix/DB/Storage certifications are an asset but not required Soft Skills Self motivated and self managing Excellent communication / follow-up / time management skills Ability to fulfill role/duties independently within defined policies and procedures Ability to balance multi-task and multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction is key Be able to work in an interrupt-driven environment Be able to work on multiple projects and willing to work on occasional weekend maintenance windows Ability to function both as an individual contributor as well as a team player Strong communication skills and fluent English Mentoring experience is a big plus * (Level 2 only) The successful candidate will be self-sufficient, have experience supporting Oracle database in a large scale data center, and be able to work with minimal supervision.Technical Skills 3 to 5 years of working experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environment. Strong knowledge and Concept on Oracle 12c, Strong Oracle database administration, tuning and trouble shooting skills Data Guard, RMAN, OEM / GRID , TDE Linux/Unix system administration experience is a must Operational on-call support experience on production, mission critical environment is a must, Cloud environments, and regular/routine DBA tasks. Automation script development Hands on experience of any following technology is a plus: LDAP, Data Warehouse, Shell scripting, Data Compression, PL/SQL, and RAC
