As a database administrator, you will work directly with software engineers to implement solutions to accommodate our growth through lean and efficient approaches to data storage. You will have the opportunity to provide direction to our businesses and guide the design of our systems based on realistic time lines and resource constraints.We have an immediate need for a creative and driven database administrator who has a passion for building systems that have a measurable impact. The right candidate will be innovative and technically versatile. Design and development experience with several enterprise class applications that have successfully launched is preferred.Effective communication and strong collaboration skills are requirements for the position Experience with multiple database platforms is a plus Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills Experience with managing production database servers Quantifiable success as a DBA Passion for learning and using new technologies Thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment, BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and experience. Handling Backup and recovery, performance issues, managing PostgreSQL/MySQL/Redshift databases. Five or more years of industry experience, including at least four years of hands-on DB administration, three or more years hands-on DB development projects Fluency in PostgreSQL/MySQL/Redshift DB technologies and tools, DB development Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of working effectively with Development Engineering and other functions Converting logical to physical design On-call support Experience in Linux Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field 5+ years of relevant experience SQL proficiency Experience with database backups and remote disaster recovery Experience dealing with large databases Experience with managing production database servers Administration MS/Linux servers, and storage Experience in supporting internal and external customers Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift or replication, clustering, and scaling
