Job Description

    As a Mainframe IMS DBA, your role will involve utilizing your 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years focused on IMS v15 and v16 on z/OS Database Administration. Your responsibilities will include:- Demonstrating strong knowledge in IMS v16 Database Administration.- Providing 7x24 support in a large production environment.- Showcasing excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Exhibiting good interpersonal skills.- Working efficiently in a SLA driven environment.- Being adaptable to work in a flexible, team-oriented, and constantly changing environment.Qualifications required for this role include:- Experience in IMS on z/OS administration.- Proficiency in IMS database design, database alteration, and migration.- Ability to create DBDs, PSBs, ACBs.- Knowledge in DASD/Tape management, IMS upgradation/Migration, and Capacity Planning.- Experience in Performance Tuning, IMS Utilities, HALDB, and IMS Debugging.- Strong skills in performance tuning tools such as Tivoli, Omegamons, Query Manager, etc.- Competency in database initialization, forward recovery, building secondary index and pointer checker, checkpoint restart, Fast path, DEDB, etc.- Proficiency in troubleshooting skills related to IMS administration, proactive monitoring, space management, IMS application users, IMS Batch job monitoring, Security Management, IMS Backup & recovery, Disaster Recovery, and IMS Tools.- Basic knowledge of VSAM, CICS, and IMS System programming.Overall, your expertise in Mainframe IMS DBA will be crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of database administration and support in a demanding production environment.
