Drupal Technical Architect

Job Description

As an Axelerant Drupal Technical Architect, you would be required to research, scope, estimate, and present Drupal solutions for mid to enterprise-grade web sites and applications. Youll also act as a key conduit between our business development team and our technical engineers, both helping sales staff to better position Drupal and Axelerant s services, as well as bringing feedback from customers back into the development of new products and processes.Requirements

• 6+ years developing Drupal applications
• Experience with designing and building high-traffic Drupal applications with non-trivial content structure and functionality
• Ability to guide technical discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to partner and negotiate mutually agreeable outcomes with clients, partners, and other stakeholders
• Ability to perform complex Drupal development tasks including custom module development using the Drupal API system and hooks from major Drupal core systems
• Experience working in a consulting or agency environment with direct interaction with enterprise-level clients preferred
• Strong leadership and presentation skills
• An understanding of how their function contributes to the strategic direction of the business and the ability to make valuable contributions
• Ability to solve problems effectively by gathering insight from team members, ensuring that they have all the information they need for accurate analysis and consideration, involving them and supporting them as needed
• Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems systematically rather than solely by intuition or instinct; look for root causes, not just symptoms of the problem; weigh pros and cons of actions; and decide when to escalate issues
• Experience and ability to provide coaching and mentoring to team and colleagues
• Ability to transform requirements into technical architecture and then into tasks delegated to team members
• Ability to document incidents and issues for communication and reference purposes
• Understanding of common Agile methodologies and how they are applied in a team
• Understanding the overall web ecosystem with core expertise in Drupal
• Enthusiasm for the web, open-source development, and for helping us build a successful and growing organization
• Writing PHP, SQL administration and optimization, and Unix/Linux or Windows server administration is key
• Must be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced work environment

Good to have

• Knowledge of or experience with other CMS technologies and/or open-source technologies is a plus
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
• Understanding modern cloud-based infrastructure and large scale application deployment
• Experience providing technical support or consulting strongly preferred
• Long-time Drupalists who are active contributors
