You ll be part of a team specifically built to meet and exceed our evolving technology needs, as well as our technology controls agenda.As an experienced Site Reliability Engineer/Architect, your mission is to lead production support and monitoring of Federated Data Lake central lake. Your deep knowledge of design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming will help your team raise their game, meeting your standards, as well as satisfying both business and functional requirements. Your expertise in various technology domains will be counted on to set strategic direction and solve complex and mission critical problems, internally and externally. And best of all, you ll be able to harness massive amounts of brainpower through our global network of technologists from around the world.The candidate selected will be part of EECT Cloud Engineering Center of Excellence team to get involved in researching emerging technologies, developing framework solutions and supporting application teams. The preferred candidate will be able to solve complex problems and work with geographically spread teams. The preferred candidate will have several years of cloud application/API development experience in multiple platforms and can drive FD support work with minimal direction from management. Roles and responsibilities:
• Design, code, test and deliver software to automate manual work.
• Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents.
• Engage with core engineering team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring of changes.
• Troubleshoot incidents/environment problems and Dev/UAT and prod environments.
• Proactively monitor capacity & resiliency metrics of the platform.
• Proactively improve resiliency/reliability of the platform (via Gremlin/Chaos engineering)
• Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objective.
• Design self-healing and resiliency patterns.
• Design automated software upgrades, change management and release management solutions.
• Coach and manage teams as applicable.
• Participate in 24x7 support coverage as needed.
• Communicate and collaborate with global technology teams on identifying and resolving technology issues.
• Sharp debugging skills using standards IDE, remote debuggers, CLI based tools.
Qualifications
• 12 to 14 years of overall industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience in SRE/production support role.
• 3+ years of development experience on cloud.
• Solid experience in engineering solutions for data management on cloud.
• Experience with strong big data, data ingesting, enriching, modeling, workflow, central rules engine for metrics calculations/reporting.
• Experience building Data Lake using AWS and hands-on experience in AWS Glue, AWS KMS, S3, AWS EMR, Athena, Redshift, Quick Sight, Lake Formation, Kinesis.
• Exposure to big data technologies - HDFS, Apache Spark, Python.
• Hands-on experience in developing and managing data platforms leveraging event streaming, messaging and DB services such as Cassandra, Oracle, Aurora, AWS RDS, Kinesis etc.
• Knowledge of BI tools, like Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau etc.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure automation tools, like Terraform and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Experience identifying, designing, and building common services.
• Ability to present technology solutions within internal and external forums.
• Ability to perform design review, code-review, write project documentation and its support.
• Willing to learn new technologies and can-do attitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
