Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Counsel patients on:
  • Estimated amount for hospitalization
  • Break up of estimated bill
  • Hospital billing policies
  • Check-in and check-out patients at the financial counselling desk (for calculation of TAT)
  • Follow up with patients who have been advised for admission, but not yet admitted
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to find out room eligibility
  • Update financial clearance of patients, to all concerned, for continuing treatment
  • Follow up with patients for pending advance payments
  • For patients getting admitted without insurance pre-auth, collect insurance documents, get pre-auth form signed by patient and hand it over to the pre-auth desk
  • Counsel patients on billing queries at the time of discharge
  • Follow up with patients daily for due mobilization
  • Admit patients and generate IP number
  • Allot (vacant) room to the patient during admission process
  • Collect advance deposit from patients at the time of admission
  • Counsel patients on visitor and others on admission policies
  • Fill relevant documents in the case sheet
  • Ensure the patient is escorted to the ward by hospital staff
  • Upgrade room for patients in case of non-availability and follow up on transfer to desired room type at the earliest
  • Receive the patient and make comfortable
  • Ensure the patient is already registered, if not register at admission desk
  • Admit right patient in the right room under the right consultant.
  • Before admission
  • 1. check the Doctor admission advice,
  • 2. check the patient is desire to admit under cash, insurance or credit.
  • 3. in case of credit or insurance collect & forward the necessary documents to respective departments.
