Job Description In alignment with the Novartis REFS Security Strategy , the purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership to the establishment , effective integration and subsequent functioning of the Enterprise - wide Security and Operations Center (ESOC) , which is the nerve center of security monitoring and response in support of the organizational goal of actively protecting Novartis people , property and reputation. Reporting to Global Head REFS Security , this role is responsible for monitoring and re - sponse capability of the ESOC Major Accountabilities Function : The ESOC manager is responsible for the overall management of technical security hard - ware , software , and applications at the ESOC level and leading the REFS Security Operations Center service delivery framework in line with global best practice. Process : Working in conjunction with REFS Regional Security Heads and Global Security to provide integrated and standardized security support for all Novartis associates and sites. Ensuring a system is in place to routinely track and communicate security performance. Stakeholder Engagement : Interfaces with Site Security Leads and business partners , such as NBAA , ERC , HSE , IT and BCM as well as external REFS services delivery partner to ensure consistency , harmonized approach and proper utilization of resources. Compliance : Ensures that robust systems are in place to demonstrate and verify compliance with all Novartis regulations , permits , statutes as well as all local laws and any other externally driven legal or legislative requirements. Development : Aligned with NBS strategy , identify opportunities and engage with relevant stakeholders , both internal and external , to improve and expand ESOC scope of operations Key Accountabilities Ensure ESOC operating procedures are established and maintained with process mapping carried out to deliver effective security monitoring and timely communications leading to appropriate response in support of the business. Ensure program effectiveness driven by customer and management satisfaction through a demonstrable ticketing system with all targets achieved within agreed - upon timelines. All NBS REFS Security internal commitments fully met. Support expansion of ESOC services and generation / customer acquisition from within Novartis in terms of customer outreach : Participate in and support all periodic exercises designed to test Novartis Emergency Management (NEM) and business continuity plans in designated areas of responsibility Minimum requirements What you ll bring to the role : Preferred Bachelor s degree in Emergency Management , Business Continuity , Criminal Justice , IT or other similar related field. Desirable Master s degree in relevant field Fluency in written and spoken English essential , other common languages desirable. Minimum 14+ years of experience in Security or Operations Management , Asset Protection , and / or Cyber Security within an international matrix organization. Preferred industry experience in military or law enforcement , healthcare , pharmaceutical , chemical , and / or manufacturing Why consider Novartis 750 million.
