Ideal for someone who has a data scientist background but looking for a stepping stone to a good PhD program. Responsibilities REQUIREDInterested candidate should have overall high proficiency in both Python and R (not wedded to either). Quick with implementing algorithms and building software prototypes. Comfortable doing exploratory data analysis, building and manipulating dictionaries, lists, data frames etc. Comfortable with basic optimization (e.g. Batch gradient descent, SGD, Adagrad etc.) and with fitting generalized linear models. The fluency in above along with the following skills are a must:1) Ability to collect, clean and normalize large volumes of data in public domain.2) Experience of cleaning and manipulating existing large datasets (cross sectional and time series). 3) Skilled in creative data visualisation and infographics generation (must know both ggplot2 and matplotlib)4) Ability to disseminate research results through web GUI and dashboards ( e. g. using R shiny)5) Experience in writing specifications, developer documentation and user documentation, proficiency in LaTeX.
