Job Description

    ResponsibilityHandson IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipmentDesign, configure and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software and communication links and services.Optimize the network and systems services and troubleshoot any network performance issues.Responsible for the service provision and monitoring of the network infrastructure to company standards.SkillsSpecific knowledge and 0 to 3 years of experience with Cisco and Juniper routersKnowledge of internetworking designs and their applications and routingSolid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologiesExperience with protocolsFirewall experience such as (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG etc.)Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routersCertifications such as (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) are a plusPosition CommentsProactive/Reactive monitoring of s Commercial Network Core/Edge devices using various Element Management tools (Spectrum, Ericson Experience Manager, SevOne, etc) to isolate and troubleshoot all network related issuesProcess all customer calls/emails and take ownership of issue until resolutionTroubleshoot network outages, network latency, or CPE failures to resolutionSetup dispatch and troubleshoot issues with local field operations to resolve customer/network related issuesDirect efforts so as to maintain service Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) within regional or contractual standardsKnowledge Of NetworksLocal Area Network (LAN)Wide Area Network (WAN)Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)Carrier EthernetCarrier WavelengthCell BackhaulDOCSIS StandardsEthernet over HFC
