Job Description

As a member of our Infrastructure Development team, you will dive right into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to develop and deploy large scale infrastructure solutions that supports JPMC s diverse and critical businesses. You will be using the latest technologies, data management and security practices in all aspects of software development. Critical thinking, clearcommunication and collaboration are key to successful product delivery.As a member of the Global Software Defined Storage Engineering team, you will be instrumental in the testing, design and rollout of new Object Storage solutions. You will work using Agile methodologies to develop fully automated storage deployments with a strong focus on security and risk. You will also develop data driven, API enabled, straight through provisioned storage solutions for internal storage consumers.This role requires a variety of strengths and capabilities including:

  • Significant experience in IT Systems Engineering
  • Requires experience with AWS S3 storage
  • Experience using object storage products such as Elastic Cloud Storage, StorageGrid, Cloudian, Ceph, Scality, Cleversafe.
  • Ability to provide technical analysis and implementation support for system and functionality upgrades
  • Requires extensive knowledge of hardware, software, and systems components
  • Experience with internals of distributed Operating Systems (Unix/Linux, Windows, ESX)
  • Must have proven engineering experience within a Unix/Linux environment
  • Software development or scripting experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: e.g. Shell, Perl, Python, Java.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with clear communication
  • Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
  • Experience with developing frameworks that helps increasing developer and release velocity, improving code health and technical standards
  • Advanced experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, database, unix/linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, large scale software development, security software development
  • Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design, implementation and delivery
  • Understanding cloud , virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
