Job Description

Role Description As an Instructional Designer, you will be a key member of the Knowledge Management Practice at GAIAN. You will work with a talented team of professionals to create and manage a broad range of product, platform, and solution-oriented collaterals to support our customers and partners. In this role, you will interact with product managers, solution architects, engineering leads, marketing & business development teams to gain a deep understanding of the product/platform capabilities and translate your insights into engaging and interactive learning content that ll aid in quick learning, longer retention and effective use of the product/platform.The kind of collaterals that you will produce will include Story Boards, Tutorials, and structured training material. This role calls for a tech-savvy educational enthusiast ready to take on the challenge and wear multiple hats, playing the role of learning content developer, facilitator, innovator, and researcher.It goes without saying that you must be a clear thinker with top-notch writing skills (in professional English), adhering to Industry standard styles and guidelines. You must be a motivated, self-starter with lots of initiative with the ability to test the various product features on your own.Must have skills and abilities:You are a self-directed individual who continuously seeks out new challenges and has:

  • 5+ years Instructional design experience in a high performing and challenging environment
  • Experience with latest LMS, Learning models and protocols like SCORM
  • Sound knowledge of adult learning principles and human cognition theories like Bloom s taxonomy
  • Clear thinking with the ability to understand technology products and services, develop keen insights and translate them into multiple content formats
  • Experience in designing, developing, and delivering emerging learning solutions including game-based learning, video, micro-learning (Just-in-Time), simulations, and immersive scenarios requiring multiple branching elements
  • Strong proficiency with industry standard design software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate and Storyboard 360
  • Understanding of User Interface Design principles is a must.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills to achieve desired target timelines
  • Knowledge of using Adobe Creative Suite, MS PowerPoint
  • Proven interpersonal skills, working effectively with various levels of the organization, across many different functional areas.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills (must be able to manage concurrent projects with different project teams).
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, maintain engaging, and interactive instructional content to train internal and external customers in using our products and services
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience s training needs
  • Set instructional end goals (learning objectives) and create content that matches them
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
  • Analyse and trends, adult learning principles, assessment design techniques and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
  • Design and develop practise exercises and assessments that enhance the learning process and evaluate learner s mastery over the topics learnt
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
Educational requirementsGraduate or Post Graduate degree in Education, Engineering, or Humanities with a high-level of exposure to enterprise-grade technology products, services, and industry trends.Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience working as part of a high-performance team involved in creating learning content for a deep technology organization, preferably in the Enterprise Software or PaaS field.We offer you much more than a job.
