InternTracking Code 1491-679Job Description The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is a scientific nonprofit organization that sets standards for the identity, strength, quality, and purity of medicines, food ingredients, and dietary supplements manufactured, distributed and consumed worldwide. USP s drug standards are enforceable in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration, and these standards are used in more than 140 countries. This is a hands-on non-supervisory position in the Synthetic Laboratory within Global Laboratory Operations. The incumbent will be engaged in Impurities for Development (IFD) program and will be responsible for the literature search for and synthesis of desired reference materialsRoles and Responsibilities: Support cost estimate process in IFD programPerform literature search and verify CAS no, name and chemical structure of compoundsCarry literature search using various databases (Scifinder and Reaxys)Search for the information in monographs (USP and EP etc.)Plan and conduct experiments in the lab to synthesize target compoundsWork on purification process using MPLC and column chromatography techniquesEnsure the project updates are provided to the supervisor on weekly basis.Responsible for archival of projectsrecords.Work collaboratively with fellow lab scientists and other relevant departmentsHelp the team in quality audits as necessary.Required Skills Education and Experience: Master s degree in chemistry / Organic chemistry with Distinction or Minimum 60 % of Marks (Candidate needs to be consistently First Class all through the Academics)Required Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Sound knowledge in the areas of synthetic organic chemistry and compound characterization; Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills required; Working knowledge of computer applications, such as ChemDraw, MS Word and MS ExcelJob Location Hyderabad, IndiaPosition Type InternJob Category Scientific,
