Job Description

HPE is one of the worlds leading technology companies and provides wired and wireless networking, servers, storage, IT and Cloud services, and software solutions for the next generation of IT infrastructure.The Patent Analysis group is a team of attorneys and technologists who collaborate with organizations across HPE to analyse HPE s intellectual property (IP) portfolio, to identify and position HPE s IP for strategic results while maintaining HPE s IP differentiation and freedom of action strategies, and who advance the way the IP team works through the development of innovative tools and processes.Our team is looking for an individual with a strong technical background in the servers, storage and/or software space, an interest in IP, and in the development of next generation IP analysis tools on Salesforce. Previous experience with IP matters especially patents is required, along with Salesforce development experience. A motivated, proactive and innovative individual would be in a position to bring significant value to HPE in this position.IP Technologists perform the following functions:

  • Analyse HPE s IP portfolio to identify high-value IP supporting HPE s strategic goals
  • Collaborate with the Intellectual Property Licensing (IPL) and Intellectual Property Transaction (IPT) groups to provide technical support for monetization programs
  • Provide evidence of use and technical analysis to demonstrate the value of HPE s IP to third parties
  • Identify and review patents that are related to (e.g., potentially essential for) a standard
  • Evaluate HPE s strategic and tactical IP position relative to third parties
  • Salesforce development (Lightning, APEX)
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Application of AI, ML and NLP techniques in solving workflow automation and search challenges
  • Experience with Python, PowerApps or Power Automate is a plus
The right candidates would be expected to have the following traits / qualifications:
  • Deep technical expertise in subject matter aligned with one or more of HPE s businesses (e.g. server, storage and/or software technology).
  • Experience as a Salesforce developer (Lightning, APEX)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Attention to detail, rigorous analytic skills, and adaptable
  • Ability to manage priorities and strong workload management skills
  • Desire to understand the legal principles governing IP and the business of IP monetization
  • Prior experience with IP (e.g., patent analysis, or experience as a member of patent committees) is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor s degree in Computing Science or Software Development
In a typical day as a Client Manager, you would Plan and direct the delivery for the entire lifecycle of smaller contracts Be accountable for the financial performance of the contract in terms of revenue and also on potential margin and growth on the portfolio of contracts Be accountable for customer satisfaction with respect to annuity or outsourcing services Establish yearly budgets and have control of expenses to achieve financial goals Lead business negotiations for contracts or portions of contracts for a country or region. Direct the solution, operational service, partner, and sub-contractor teams that deliver services to the customer Develop strategies and processes in areas such as performance metrics and measure, escalation, change management and communication.If you are Good at partnering, innovating, and making things happen.
