Job Description

As an iSeries Developer, you are responsible for management of application design, development and enhancement using ILE, RPG, CLLE, SQL and Synon. You are curious to learn as demonstrated by your up-to-date technical knowledge. You are a good team player and you are familiar with Agile methodologies and principles and/or have experience working in an Agile team. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and/or re-engineer complex application components
  • You will build iSeries applications using ILE, RPG, CLLE, SQL and Synon to demonstrate agile and dynamic software support capabilities for the development team
  • Responsible for development, maintenance and improvement of IBM internal applications
  • As part of dedicated agile team, you will be responsible for performing application development based on Agile methodologies and participate in requirements / user story analysis and design
  • Complete activities related to assigned user stories based on priority
  • Conduct appropriate unit test and module testing. Detect, report, investigate and fix defects in the application
  • Work effectively in collaboration with other team members - as well as partners and other support functions when required
  • Continuous focus on improving the applications
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in application development using ILE, RPG, CLLE, and Synon
  • Ability to independently analyse requirements based on given specification and come up with sound and balanced algorithmic design
  • In-depth experience with using Agile lifecycle management tools like Jira
  • Knowledge in MQ, Turnover is desirable
  • Knowledge on implementing devOps
  • Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals
  • Solid verbal and written communications
  • Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
