Job Responsibilities: Purpose of Role: This role is responsible Database Management of Teradata database. This role acts as the developer for a Teradata DBA team working on day to day operation of database management. This role will be responsible for the full software development life cycle of product road map item which are assigned to him. This role will be responsible for providing database strategy and architecting future changes to system. This role assigns tasks to other Team Leads and developers, and evaluates progress and results of development efforts. This role shall be effectively delegate tasks to his team and getting them accomplished on time. This role shall do team management, appraisals, training needs, conflict resolution. This role will assist the Senior Manager in resource management, planning, effort estimation and project tracking. Engage with TD support on exceptions and failures.Performance Tuning and optimizationStrong Knowledge of Teradata Parallel Architecture, SQL, Load utilities, DBA utilities. Identify bad performing Jobs and Optimize them for better performance. Provide solutions and standards to improve Performance. Tune the system variables for optimized usage. Training the team on Teradata Architecture, SQL, utilities.Responsible for database availability to all stakeholders with less downtime. Co - ordinate with all users of database viz. Reporting, Analytics, Daily load. Researches problems discovered by QA or product team or product support, and develops solutions to the problemsSkills Required: Knowledge / Expertise / Qualifications: Essential Strong Teradata internals and database administration knowledge preferably TD12 and above. Work experience on Teradata DBA utilities for workload and their installation of TASMTDWM Viewpoint / Teradata Manager Work experience on Teradata bulk load utilities FASTLOADMLOADFASTEXPORT TPUMP TPT BTEQ Installation of Teradata Client Utilities and their interface issues with other DW tools SQL Asst CLIODBC Driver Work experience and creation of Tape backup strategy using tools Net vault / Net Backup ARCMA IN Strong SQL writing / re - writing and debugging skills with complete knowledge on Analytical and statistical functions of Teradata .Good knowledge of Unix Shell scripts and job automation using Unix shell scripts. Strong debugging and problem solving skills. Strong technical knowledge in at least two areas - Informatics, Micro Strategy, and Teradata. Strong technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation Strong understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance,
