Job Description

FX Options Ecommerce Developer delivering software for the purpose of electronic pricing, execution, market making and statistical analysis for the FX Options business. This is a front-office facing position primarily focused on an existing and expanding trading system dealing with several businesses and also expanding into new asset classes within FICC.

The system is primarily built in C# and Python.

Working as a member of the EFX Options Technology team, the position will be responsible for a continuous cycle of development for the FICC business requirements gathering, application development, testing, deployment and maintenance.

Example deliverables will include pricing models, electronic execution and market making algorithms, market data collection, analytics, profiling and the infrastructure required to foster a low latency, scalable and agile environment. These deliverables will be a blend of new Greenfield development, and modifications to the existing trading infrastructure. Some third level support of the overall system is also required.

As well as the usual technology team interactions, the position involves working with quantitative developers, traders and sales people and hence demands a high level of comfort with the invariably fast paced, high pressure environment associated with trading floors.

The position requires the candidate to be proficient primary in C# development but also Python experience is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test applications, working with the trading team to implement deal-able pricing and execution for their automated trading strategies and execution algorithms.
  • Development and enhancement of the trading infrastructure e.g. proof of concept hardware and software research, improvements to software backbone.
  • Third level support
  • Documentation of software and hardware design
  • Handover of completed product to first and second level support

Requirements

Mandatory skills:

  • Derivatives business experience, ideally within FX Options
  • Front office development experience, either at a buy or sell side firm, preferably with an exposure to both within an ecommerce environment
  • Strong analytical skills and enjoys solving complicated technical problems
  • Should be a proactive, self-starter, capable of working on complex time critical tasks either individually or as part of a team. Able to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external colleagues, particularly non-technical business users.
  • Experience in multi-threaded, distributed systems and be aware of the various pitfalls related to threading
  • Must have: C# .Net 4.0 (or above) and Python, SQL, OO design skills, server side experience

Desired skills

  • Nice to have (any of): Java, FIX Protocol, Oracle, Coherence, C, C++, Scripting, Windows Server, distributed systems, DevOps tools like BitBucket, Jenkins etc.
