Roles and responsibilities Role/ Department Description: Trading Solutions is a sub-business unit under Analytics and Trading Solutions SBU, and focuses on workflows that are specific and unique to the front office trading. Serving portfolio managers and traders, Trading Solutions provide a unique combination of content, analytics, and order and execution management systems to transform the way investment firms analyze, communicate, and execute investment ideas. The Enterprise/ EMS web development team is currently seeking a talented individual to take on the role of a software engineer within the team. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining HTML5 applications used for trading and trade support. In this position, the engineer will be working on web technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript and Vue.js.Responsibilities: Develop new FactSet EMS Web components Expected to lead a team of 2-3 less experienced engineers Coach and mentor junior engineers in Web development and best practices Maintain and resolve bugs in existing components Work with Product Development to understand project requirements and other engineers to implement completed wireframes and designs. Provide regular project status updates to team Lead Work with other engineers in following the test driven methodology in an agile environment Required Skills: 5 years of industry experience Desire for leadership role Professional experience with JavaScript Professional experience with Git Experience with a JavaScript-based framework, such as Vue.js or AngularJS is expected Experience with ES6 is desirable Familiarity with TypeScript is desirable Knowledge of RESTful services Proficiency with object oriented design principles and working knowledge of Linux OS Design experience with multi-tier web architectures Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices Excellent organizational and communication skills Willingness to work as a member of a team, including participating in peer code reviews and maintaining project and operational documentation Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team Ability to create and review documentation and test plans Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent,
