Amazon is looking for a Business Intelligence Manager to join Finance & Global Business Services to lead a team responsible for defining, building and executing our end to end analytics solutions. Within our team, we enjoy a unique vantage point into everything happening within Amazon. This role leads a team that is responsible for automating the company s enterprise-wide financial planning & analytics environment providing strategic analytical support to Amazon s CFO and executive team (S-team).The ideal candidate will lead a team to deliver company-wide finance analytic projects that change how Amazon consumes, stores, and analyzes financial data. The candidate will have a track record of building teams that span both business and technical competencies, gathering business requirements and creating analytics solutions that have measurable customer impact. Engage with leadership and diversified customer groups to understand the needs and recommend business intelligence solutions. Hire, manage, coach and lead a high performing team of Business Intelligence Engineers Partner with peer engineering teams to define the data elements and data structure that the team should leverage to enable analytical capabilities. Design, implement, and support platforms that provide business teams standardized and ad-hoc access to large datasets (eg data visualization tools for non-tech business users) Interface with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete reporting solutions. Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Participate in strategic & tactical planning discussions. Standardize data and report consumption across all customer groups. Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve the operational and quality metrics. Be connected and influential within the Amazon BI community. Work with Data engineering, Software development teams to enable the appropriate capture and storage of key data points. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded professional and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future., Experience managing Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and/or Business Analysts Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related business/analytical disciplines 5+ years of industry experience in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Data Engineering, Software Development, or related field with a track record of producing actionable business insights from large datasets Hands-on experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g. QuickSight, Cognos, Tableau, Power BI) Excellent communication skills to summarize insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication Ability to navigate ambiguity to develop and champion new ideas and creative solutions Ability to lead successfully in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Ability to manage team to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads MBA or Master s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related business/analytical disciplines 8+ years of experience managing Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Scientists, and/or Business Analysts Experience working with AWS big data technologies (Redshift, S3, EMR) High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to lead a team to deliver a project/program from scoping requirements through actual launch Demonstrated ability to write complex, optimized SQL queries across large data sets Proficiency in at least one programming language used for data science such as Python, R, etc. Knowledge of various machine learning techniques and key parameters that affect their performance A history of teamwork and willingness to roll up one s sleeves to get the job done Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of coworkersAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
