Job Description

  • Manage student testing software, servers, and configuration
  • Develop and maintain computer imaging and update servers
  • Configure, Deploy, and Administer new and emerging technologies
  • Assist Network Engineer in maintaining optimal network performance and security, protecting the network by actively managing routers, switches, firewalls, and content filtering on the physical and wireless networks
  • Assist Network Engineer with maintaining all ISH wiring closets, including labelling, cable management, switch deployment, and virtualization
  • Assist Network Engineer with essential functions to assist in the support of the ISH wired and wireless infrastructure
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of the School workstations, printers, and peripherals including their related software
  • Configure and maintain network backups
  • Maintain network server, operating system, surveillance system, and all other pertinent documentation
  • Maintain personal and professional technology skills and knowledge base, keeping current with industry trends
  • Provide training to end-users as needed
  • Promote a positive and professional image of the School at all times
  • Participate in meetings as required, offering insight and direction regarding the use of technology as it relates to the ISHs Information Literacy and Technology Plan
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative relationship with other members of the core technical team
  • Perform all other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications Experience

  • Masters degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • At least 8-10 years of work experience in a similar role
  • Experience with databases, network administration (including wireless and firewalls), G Suite for Education administration, and information technology resources and services is mandatory
  • Strong familiarity with typical school hardware (desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, interactive projectors,) and typical software (Apple platform, G Suite including Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides, Microsoft Suite, web-based applications, licensing, databases, etc.)
  • Prior experience of developing technology strategies and working with budgets
  • Knowledge of GDPR guidelines
  • Organized self-starter who enjoys assisting staff and students with their learning and day to day operations
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
