Job Description

  • Deliver value to our customers and do everything necessary to achieve this
  • Manage people - expectation setting, 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring, and mentoring
  • Lead the development of Services or Products as part of an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) team and be responsible for delivery and quality
  • Be responsible for end to end delivery and operations of a set of services.
  • Make sure we automate everything: building (Gradle and Jenkins/Cloudbees), testing (JUnit, Cucumber), and deploying (Puppet, Terraform) services
  • Build out tactical plans aligning with strategic technical goals focusing on improving quality, delivery time, availability and resiliency
  • Manage stakeholder expectations (Customers, Product, Customer Support, Internal Infrastructure teams) with regard to your teams progress and risks
  • Participate in Design and technology reviews
  • Remove people, process and technology-related impediments for your team
  • Work on Web and Mobile User Interfaces and REST APIs that connect to SQL (Oracle) and noSQL databases
  • Work in Linux on Amazon Web Services
  • Actively measure health and performance of the services you help build
  • Continuously learn new concepts and technologies and share them with your team and the greater Neustar community
  • Make things better every day
Qualifications/Education RequirementFour year degree in IT, Computer Science or related field OR equivalent work experience10+ years experience developing enterprise software and services4+ years experience in people management especially with respect to Development teamsDemonstrated experience managing a delivery team for a high-volume, scalable systemIt is nice to have an understanding of networking or DNS conceptsBe able to speak your mind and make a case for your solution to a problem.Know and Understand:
  • What Microservices are
  • What it means to build and deploy an application in a Cloud environment
  • The challenges in scaling an application
  • Run an Agile SDLC and balance stakeholder expectation along with technical debt reduction
  • Issues with working with distributed systems and data.
