Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provides Technical Leadership and Strategic Direction to the TechOps/Production Support team.
  • Responsible to provide functional, technical or process leadership to the team, including architecture, design, development and delivery of Linux applications using industry standard processes and tools, drive DevOps transformation within the VCIT Portfolio.
  • Manage a team to provide 24 x 7 supports and respond to issues with urgency, these duties include opening of investigation and outage bridges, troubleshooting, management of traffic across multiple applications and locations, managing daily checkpoint calls, and tracking of open items on a daily basis.
  • Work closely with our Architects, Engineers, Operations, Product Managers and other clients and partners of the DevOps team to meet the needs of the organization to stay competitive - from the infrastructure up to the highest level of applications availability and scalability at optimum performance level.
  • Pro-actively analyze current processes and practices and suggest/ drive improvements.
  • Drive organization-wide cloud migrations, initiatives and their implementation to ensure smooth and stability of environment.
  • Responsible for people management, release management and effective process management of the TechOps team.
  • Is involved in understanding Business requirements and works with the development architect to translate requirements into solution architecture designs.
  • Analyzes competitive products and technologies and makes appropriate suggestions (may use demos, POCs) to influence product / technology direction.
You ll need to have:
  • Bachelor s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience in Production Support with Cloud Computing platforms (eg : Amazon AWS, Azure etc).
  • Experience in different infrastructure and application/synthetic monitoring tools.
  • Experience with automation using Ansible, Shell Scripting etc.
  • Experience in resolving Weblogic/Tomcat issues and handling outage bridges.
  • Experience in building high-performance infrastructures that are scalable and resilient.
  • Experience/Knowledge migrating web applications to Cloud (AWS, Oracle Cloud and Containers).
  • Experience in Load Balancers: GLB, AKAMAI/EdgeCast, ALB/ELB etc.
Even better if you have:
  • A degree.
  • Ten or more years of work experience.
  • AWS Certification.
  • Experience in implementation of Docker and Kubernetes framework.
  • Experience in AWS cloud services like EC2, EBS, ECS.
  • Strong knowledge in DevOps tools and processes.
