• Provide end-to-end expert guidance on how to manage edge device connectivity, Network Access Control, network port/protocol security, firewalls, IPS/IDS, malware detection and prevention, and Web Filtering
• Develop the strategic vision and agenda for network security, both perimeter and internal, and communicate to IT Leadership ensuring alignment and support
• Design and configure perimeter security (firewall, IPS/IDS, VPN, web filtering, malware/botnet protection) for data centers, POPs, remote sites, and cloud connectivity ensuring a high degree of performance and service availability for our clients
• Initiate, lead, and execute on IT activities related to network security and secure connectivity
• Design and configure secure connectivity to user-based applications hosted both internally and externally
• Provide end-to-end expert leadership on how to effectively design, secure, integrate, grow, and maintain cost-effective network security for data centers, remote sites, and perimeter-based solutions
• Technical analysis and performance tuning of hardware, software, networks, security, and logging/monitoring
• Use ITIL Service Request, Incident, Risk, Problem, and Change Management principles to optimize and reduce risks within IT network, voice, video, and collaboration, particularly as it relates to security
• Resolve 2nd & 3rd Level incidents escalated from IT Operations team in a timely manner aligning to published IT SLA response times.
• Ensure network infrastructure and security standards for data centers, POPs, remote sites, and Cloud infrastructure align to site patterns that are communicated and adopted globally
• Develop and maintain documentation related to the installation, administration, and maintenance of IT security systems and assets

Recommended Competencies

• Minimum of 6 years experience supporting and securing network by implementing Firewalls, Web Filtering, Email Security, IPS/IDS, VPN, Remote Access solutions.
• Moderate ability to mentor and train others
• Minimum of 6 years network administration experience consisting of architecting, implementing, managing, and securing enterprise networking equipment that supports connectivity to data and applications that reside within data centers, remote sites, Cloud providers, and more. This equipment includes switches, routers, firewalls, application optimization solutions, load balancers, IPS/IDS, VPN solutions, and Cisco hardware/software
• Moderate experience reading and writing documentation for Infrastructure Security implementations
• Basic experience with ITIL processes such as Incident/Problem/Configuration/Change management.
• Basic customer handling skills along with extensive hands on skills in defining and creating operational/procedure documents
• In-depth technical knowledge of current network and security hardware, software, protocols and Internet standards, including: EIGRP, MPLS, DMVPN, QoS, SSL, TCP/IP, IPSec, GRE, logging, monitoring, encryption technologies, and all layers of OSI model
• Advanced knowledge of implementing Firewall and Proxy technologies
• Troubleshoot and fix Firewall, Proxy, IPS issues.
• Patch network vulnerabilities to ensure that information is safeguarded against outside parties.
• Provide feedback on network requirements, including network architecture and infrastructure.
• Scripting experience like Python and Bash
• Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.
• Experience detecting, analyzing, and eradicating malware, viruses, and malicious attacks; rectifying security vulnerabilities; and preventing Zero-Day attacks
• Knowledge applying security principles as it relates to IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance
• Basic understanding of SANS Critical Security Controls (CSC)
• Basic to Moderate knowledge of penetration techniques
• Basic knowledge of Information Technology forensic techniques
• Basic knowledge of audit requirements (PCI, HIPPA, SOX, etc.)
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and related technologies such as LDAP, LDAPS and RADIUS
• Experience configuring, administering, and managing McAfee Data Exchange Layer (DXL) and McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange solutions
