Job Description

The Database Engineering team is responsible for architecture of Database patterns, Engineering standards & best practices, database build automation, platform & Database certifications, JPMC ecosystem integration and other strategic initiatives. The team works in conjunction with other technology towers to ensure that databases are deployed around a set of security, resiliency and operational standards and best practices that is integrated with the enterprise infrastructure in an automated & agile manner. We are looking for an experienced Oracle Infrastructure developer with Oracle DBA background with strong automation/scripting experience, on Linux/Unix platforms with a proven track record in DBA, Database Engineering, automation/Scripting, SDLC and exposure to Agile & Scrum software development methodologies.As a member of our Infrastructure Development team, you will dive right into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to develop and deploy large scale infrastructure solutions that supports JPMC s diverse and critical businesses. You will be using the latest technologies, data management and security practices in all aspect of software development. Critical thinking, clear communication and collaboration are key to success product delivery.This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Provide Oracle Database and automation expertise throughout the Infrastructure lifecycle including design, implementation and delivery.
  • Understanding cloud , virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages
  • Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, Perl, Unix Shell scripting, SQL, C, Java.
  • Experience with developing frameworks that helps increasing developer and release velocity, improving code health and technical standards
  • Advanced experience working with two or more from the following: database backend development, Oracle, Unix/Linux environments, information retrieval, networking, large scale software development, security software development
  • Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with clear communication
  • Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
  • Expert level Infrastructure development and Automation on Linux environments. Experience with Agile/Scrum software development framework, JIRA, Confluence, Source code control system, Integration & User acceptance testing, log capture, documentation and Production releases
  • Exposure to Microservice architecture, REST API design/development
  • Experience with database build automation, test driven development, continuous integration & Delivery
  • Strong understanding of distributed computing technologies including Server hardware, virtualization(eg Vmware), operating systems(Linux/Unix), Oracle Database(backend, minimum 8-10 years, Oracle 12c,18c), Networks, Storage(ASM), Clustering(RAC), Replication(Goldengate), Backup & Recovery(RMAN),Business Continuity(Dataguard, Sync ,Async replication),Encryption(TDE)
