Job Description

We arehiringrock-starEngineeringManagers to lead new projects related to Azure services in the above areas. As a Principal EngineeringManager, you will provide technical and people leadership fora talented team of engineers.   • Lead, hire, and grow a diverseworld-classteam of software engineers
  • Leaddelivery for a world class Azure service or a platform sub-systemworking with engineers and peer teams.
  • Partner withproductmanagement,industry partners,customers, and other stakeholders to define requirements, scope projects andship productsin rapid, iterative cycles
  • Stay up to date on industry trends around cloud native technologies,open source development and dev ops processes, mentoring team on innovation, modern design and service engineering.
  • Support customers and live site in a dev ops model
  • Build for security, privacy,scale, reliability and compliance
  • Lead others by exemplifyinggrowth mindset,inclusiveness, teamwork, and customerobsession
  • Mentor, coach and grow engineers
, QualificationsRequired:
  • BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
  • 10+ years of industry experience building and shipping softwareusing modern programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, Go or Python
  • Track record ofdeliveringengineering projects across multiple ship cycles
  • At least4 years of experience in people management
  • Demonstrated history of leading successfulengineering teams that work well together
  • Strong technical andproblem-solving skills
  • Customer obsession and passion for shipping high quality products
  • Excellentplanning,execution, and communication skills
Preferred:
  • Experience working in a Linux environment and/or with open source projects
  • Experience building and shipping a large-scale cloud service is a big plus
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and DevOps tools and processes
  • Experience in site-reliability engineering practices and supporting scalable live site services
  • Experience working withcross-functional teams across geographies
  • Experience growing senior engineers
