Job Purpose: Lead preformulation & formulation (preclinical & clinical) development for New Chemical Entities (NCEs) Key Responsibilities: Lead preformulation and formulation development activities, including physicochemical profiling (solubility, ionization/dissociation constant, partition/distribution coefficient, etc.) and in-vitro biopharm risk assessment for NCEs, Proficiency in development of various dosage forms like tablets, capsules, solutions & suspension based on results of excipient compatibility studies is required, Establish necessary infrastructure for project execution, perform gap analysis periodically, proactively plan for resources as per evolving portfolio, Devise project strategy, and plan experiments in alignment with client s project team, to establish necessary workflows for end-to-end deliverables, Manage a team of skilled scientists. Train and orient them in understanding the experimental protocol and execute the assigned activities, Critically review the data & establish communication channels with client for data sharing, interpretation & archival, Possess strong Leadership skills, including prioritization, delegation & communication. Work collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams and external clients/partners while exhibiting the core values of the department and company. Educational Qualifications & Experience: M. Pharm. or M.S. in Pharmaceutics/ Pharmaceutical Technology/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Industrial Pharmacy with 15-18 years of relevant industrial experience Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics/ Pharmaceutical Technology/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Industrial Pharmacy with 6-9 years of relevant industrial experience Technical Skills:
• Physicochemical properties evaluation, Pre-formulation, Formulation Development, Formulation Stability
• Studies, Solid State Characterization, Drug Substance Functionality, Data Interpretation.
• Functional/Behavioral Skills:
• Lead a Team, Team Player, Learning Agility, Growth Mindset, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Good
• Communication and Presentation skills.
Interfaces & Dependencies: Internal: Candidate will be interacting with Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics, Toxicology, Chemistry and Analytical R&D groups External: Candidate will have regular interactions with Syngene s clients working in discovery and development pharmaceutics.
