Job Description

Responsibilities The Product Manager is responsible for researching and defining all requirements for products. Additionally, the Product Manager is responsible for working with marketing, sales, consulting and development to ensure the complete preparation of all aspects of a product for sales and distribution, including packaging, pricing, demo creation, documentation and articulation of functionality in sales and marketing documents. Specifically, the Product Manager will be responsible for the following areas: Conduct market and customer/ user research to determine requirements for products. Conduct market research to inform product strategy and futures. Define and write functional specifications for products. Provide marketing communications with functional information about products and assist in creating product messaging. Create pricing for products and revise as needed. Create sales materials for each product, including proposals, contracts, sales technical overviews, implementation plans and checklists. Manage creation of demos for each product. Project- manage overall development and roll out of products, from definition stage to development to product launch. Work with all other parties to ensure that milestones are made, including all of the above pieces. Create ROI templates for all products and work with consulting to track results. Work with Vice Presidents of Marketing and Engineering to develop and maintain a product Roadmap. Conduct training for sales and consulting staff as needed to ensure proper positioning and understanding of products company- wide. Regularly conduct research to monitor client perception of value of products and services. Constantly monitor markets and competition to identify opportunities, issues, risks, etc. Skills/ Background Desired Solid understanding of technology, especially software. Experience in hi tech and/ or related services industry. Strong analytical and research abilities. Good team player, ability to work with diverse personalities Prior product management, project management or marketing experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Specific to our client Need somebody who is 70 percent technical and 30 percent sales at this point of time (generally it is other way round). After the marketing person gives the lead, PM should be able to push through Should have a solid understanding of Performance Management in the Network and Server arena. Ideal candidate is someone who has worked with Managing IT services (MSP, ASP). This is a critical issue because training someone in the short time will be difficult. Should be able to manage and guide the development team to a certain extent,
