Job Description

    This role is for a Software Engineer who will be part of an agile team working on building file translators for payment processing within JP Morgan Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) Organization. The translator code will read the input file and translate/transform input data into standard internal format. The individual will also build Transaction, Account, and Order Reports. The individual will participate in all stages of the project life cycle from requirements gathering to implementation. The role requires a Developer with the ability to work with a remote team in Chicago. Responsibilities:
    • Work closely with Client facing implementation team and remote teams using Jira, Bitbucket, and other development tools.
    • Communicate clearly, effectively on both technical and business level.
    • Participate in design, build, and test and ensure that deadlines are met.
    • Maintain code quality and properly test the code to be deployed.
    • Support developed code in production.
    • Analytical skills and out-of-the-box thinking.
    • Work with business stakeholders, other technology teams to deliver solution.
    Business Area Description: Commercial Card line of business is offering the clients ability to send payment files in any input file format (example file types - txt, csv, XML, GFF, and EDI). Our internal FlexFile System will process the payables using the Flexible File Translators. We also offer Transaction, Account, and Order Reports run on certain frequency. The technologies involved are Java, XSD, XML, and MFX (Altova Mapforce Executable). Qualifications and Technical skills:
    • Overall 3+ years of relevant development and testing experience.
    • Experience of text and other input files processing and transforming as well as null handling, defaulting, and exception handling.
    • Technical Experience in Java, XML/XSL, XSD to build algorithms, functions, and templates.
    • Technical Experience in generating executable code using Altova Mapforce IDE.
    • Experience in Object Oriented Programming, ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) Process, Design Principles, and usage of 3rd party tools.
    • Experience in collaborating in agile development methodologies and pipeline management tools.
    • Analytical and effective communication skills.
    • Knowledge of financial services and payments.
