Job Description

    Purpose of Role:

    • The Project Lead acts as the lead software developer for a software development team focused on project and will be inchargefor thedelivery of a project with medium to large sizw complexity.
    • The Project Lead will be responsible for the full software development life cycle of product road map item which are assigned to him as a project lead.
    • The Project Lead will be responsible for ongoing enhancements and maintenance of the products.
    • The Project Lead assigns tasks to other developers, and evaluates progress and results of development efforts.
    • The project lead will assist the manager/senior manager in resource management, planning, effort estimation and project tracking.
    • Indicative Role Dimensions Direct Reporting- Senior Systems Analysts, System Analysts Overall responsibility of managing close to 10-15 employees

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Ensures adherence to release schedule and ensures that the software development team adheres to quality standards.
    • Performs design, implementation and maintenance of complex product module.
    • Prepare Project plan, work assignments, tracking of resource utilization and delivery of projects on time.
    • Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits Researches problems discovered by QA or product team or product support, and develops solutions to the problems Documentation of development work Guide the team members by helping them resolve complex technology problems.
    • Will play a proactive role in hiring, mentoring, motivating and appraising team members reporting in to the incumbent.

    Knowledge / Expertise / Qualifications

    • Strong technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation
    • Strong understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans
    • Able to write code and translate requirements
    • Well versed with the concepts and application of SOA and Java/JEE Design Patterns
    • Strong understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance
    • Experience of working in various development methodologies( waterfall, agile , iterative.)
    • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills Earned a Bachelors degree in software engineering or Allied Engineering or computer science (advanced degree in business managementor technology desirable).

    Experience required: A minimum of 6-7 years technical experience in software product development out of which at least 1 year should have been in managing small software development teams.
