Areas of Responsibility
Understand the customer s retail business domain quickly and align architectural design with the customer s existing environment.
Work as technical liaison between all solution engineers (both third party and NCR), customer business and technical leaders, and NCR management during design, implementation, and deployment of this new virtualization solution. Identify and assist customers with their network infrastructure modifications required to deploy this new solution.
Ensure PCI requirements are maintained in the customer s deployment of the solution. Work as consultant for this solution to all NCR and third-party sales organizations. Assist team members with initial customer deployment of solution.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science Linux Ubuntu Debian Operating systems experience. XEN Virtualization, ZFS, DRBD, Shell scripting, networking, security, operations, hosting, and public and/or private cloud experience.
Natural at identifying, troubleshooting, and coming up with a plan of action in a quickly moving product organization.
Must have good verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Must be able to travel 50 % (will include international travel, which could be 1-2 weeks away at a time).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience virtualizing operating systems on a Linux host. Familiarity with PCI certification requirements.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting network configurations within a Linux environment.
VPN configuration experience (OpenVPN). CouchDB experience. Experience with high-availability clustering of virtualization hosts.
Experience with documenting systems, physical, logical, and module level architectures.
