Job Description

    Enterprise Software Management (ESM), an organization within Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is actively seeking a Software License Compliance Associate. The ESM organization as a whole manages software assets for JPMC which includes licensing compliance against contractual rights and obligations, request fulfillment, maintenance renewals, contract negotiations, charge-back, upkeep of the global software catalog, managing license keys, and related processes and data.Responsibilities of the Software License Compliance Associate:
    • Responsible for software licensing and inventory management, which requires an understanding of common licensing terms from vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Microfocus, SAP and Adobe, as well as an ability to research and understand uncommon licensing terms from other software vendors
    • Create and manage software compliance reports and trends for customers for cost control, pre-audit preparation, and compliance within the organization
    • Ensures software records are in place and maintained in both traditional (e.g., Sharepoint) as well as modern license management systems. Monitors for any changes to software records and identifies any impact when it occurs.
    • Perform internal audits periodically to compare licenses purchased against software installed/used on physical or virtual machines, SaaS platforms or 3 rd party cloud environments.
    • Collaborate with software product owners to optimize software usage in advance of maintenance renewals and contract negotiations to avoid costs to the firm.
    • Identify license gaps when software usage exceeds licenses purchased and resolve in concert with others such as the owner of the software product, Vendor Management, Sourcing or Legal if necessary.
    • Work with the Software Discovery team to ensure the tools are accurately and completely discovering software within JPMC for assigned software publishers.
    • Handle all related software licensing concerns with assigned publishers to drive optimal outcome with customers.
    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    • 5+ years experience managing software assets on-premise, SaaS-based and/or running in external public cloud
    • Understanding of software license metrics and their role in Software Asset management
    • Proven analytical skills using Excel. Detail oriented with ability to summarize complex data and present in a concise manner. Experience with Alteryx a plus
    • Self-starter that is motivated to achieve and actively seeks solutions to problems
    • Effective organizational skills and capability to multi-task in a fast paced environment managing multiple priorities
    • A collaborative teamwork style with the ability to build effective relationships and partnerships with internal customers.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    HIGHLY DESIRED
    • Knowledge of a commercial software asset management tool such as USU/Aspera, Flexera, SNOW or SamPro
    • Experience with license harvesting and/or use of surveys of large populations
    • Planning, development or execution of new processes for increased efficiency
    • Knowledge of Software discovery tools (i.e., ADDM, SCCM, Altiris, etc.) and/or inventory CMDB systems
    • Experience reading and/or interpreting software license agreements
    • Certifications in Software Asset Management
    • Customer Service Focused - the ability to deliver sustained high performance and high levels of customer satisfaction
    • Work well under pressure with differing levels of Management
    • Ability to maintain confidential information and communications
