Returnship Program - Senior Engineer- Electrical (Infra)

Job Description

This is paid, 16-week initiative with intent to transition our returners to permanent placement. As diverse as our business is, as are the opportunities we have available. Our cohort of Returnship participants will join multidisciplinary teams across a variety of divisions. Your Focus:
• Concept, Basic/FEED and Detail Engineering projects in Water, Waste water, Infrastructure and Aviation Projects.
• Development of power system studies (e.g. Load flow, short circuit, transient stability analysis and Relay co-ordination); design of HV, LV power distribution systems for electrical networks, Load List, Single line diagrams, schematics wiring diagrams, Switchyard & Substation design, Emergency Power design, HV & LV Cable sizing, all equipment sizing like Transformer, Switchgear, Capacitor bank, UPS & Battery sizing etc, Cable tray/Cable routing layouts, underground duct design, indoor & outdoor lighting design and layout, Earthing and lightning protection design, Solar & Wind power, Electrical equipment specifications/datasheets, appraisal of vendor bids for electrical equipment, review and approve Vendor drawings etc.
• Develop Gas Insulated Switchgears, Ring Main units, Compact Substations etc.
• Utlise Electrical SCADA and Lighting SCADA systems to develop and deliver work
• Apply International and National industry Standards and Codes like NEMA, IEC, IEEE, NEC, IS and Codes for Electrical items and systems.
• Proficient completion of work with ETAP, SKM and DIAlux software
• Working knowledge in and application of AutoCAD and Revit 3D model prorgams in your day to day
As a participant, you will:
• Experience 16 weeks of on the job learning and exploration with a diverse community of professionals from a wide range of backgrounds

• Be confident that you will receive ongoing support and mentorship and support as you navigate the transition with us to permanent employment
• Be a part of our Returnship cohort community participating in regular focus group feedback session and social events to facilitate a seamless transition as you return to the workforce

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical
• 5 years of relevant post graduate professional experience in in Water, Wastewater, Utility Corridor Development/Smart city infrastructure or Aviation Projects
• You have had a career break of at least 1 year
• You are interested in returning to work on a permanent basis (both part time and full-time options available)
• You have at least five years of relevant post graduate professional experience
• You are driven and thrive in a collaborative team
• You are available to start the Returnship program in April 2023
