Job Description

Role Summary/Purpose: The selected candidate will be part of Analytics Center of Excellence rolling up to Synchrony Financial, Hyderabad. The candidate would be part of the Enterprise Customer Engagement (ECE) Analytics team providing valuable expertise in developing predictive models. The role will require working/coordinating with the project manager/stakeholders.Essential Responsibilities:

  • Build predictive models for various use cases across customer s acquisition and lifecycle
  • Scoring predictive models to create segments that help in targeting customers for various campaigns, tracking results of the said campaigns
  • Extracting data from multiple data sources (i.e. Hadoop, Oracle, text files)
  • Maintain & prepare precise process documentation for all the existing and new models.
  • Monitor the model performance periodically; assess the trend of various metrics like PSI, KS, Gini, Divergence etc.,
  • Use SAS procedures like proc summary, proc means, proc univariate, proc sql to deliver multiple analyses like assessing marketing campaign effectiveness, profitability of specific segments, loss rates by risk buckets
  • Communicating business results/interpretations with clients and peers
  • Ability to generate innovative ideas and work on them which would have significant business impact
  • Need to do Report creation/ MIS, Ad-hoc Analysis occasionally.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Post Graduate/Engineering in any quantitative discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience with SAS and SQL
  • Experience in developing predictive models
  • Strong Programming skills
  • Exposure in data analysis techniques like modeling, segmentation, hypothesis testing
  • Experience in creating Excel reports (Pivot tables, Graphs )
  • Effective communication skills

Desired Characteristics:
  • Exposure to big data environment
  • Knowledge in Python /R or any equivalent data analysis tools
  • Experience with the application of regulatory requirements for Model Risk (e.g. SR 11-7/OCC 2011-12)
  • Exposure to Tableau or equivalent data visualization tools
  • Understanding of US credit card or retail business
  • Exposure to marketing and retail concepts
  • Hands-on experience in model development process (logistic/linear regression)
  • Thorough knowledge of complete retail databases
  • Proven ability in delivering and reviewing business results with clients and peers
  • Experience in handling large data, creating reports and giving business insight
