Senior Consultant, StoragePosting Location : Location US-ME-RemotePosting date 18 hours ago(11/10/2021 4:33 AM)Job ID 91362 Workday ID R-018626 Remote base Remote-US About the job The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Storage Consultant to join the Red Hat Consulting Strategic Practice team. In this role, you will provide consulting support to Red Hat customers on Ceph and Gluster Storage, as well as associated Red Hat service offerings. During project delivery, youll be responsible for all aspects of project fulfillment, making sure that customer expectations are met and deliverables, as described in the statement of work, are completed to the customers satisfaction. As a Senior Consultant, you will also work on designing, architecting, and documenting storage solutions that meet customer requirements, delivery of implementation services like installation and configuration, and troubleshooting. In between billable consulting engagements, youll resolve support tickets. Well need you to have a balance of technical expertise, passion for open source, and a deep understanding of IT problems faced at the enterprise level, particularly as they impact their storage subsystems. Youll also need good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as you will be assigned the most challenging projects and interact with senior-level staff on the customers side. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. What you will do

• Provide technical consulting, assistance, and enablement to customers on Red Hats storage technologies, particularly concerning Ceph
• Represent Red Hat to the customer and ensure customer engagements always result in high levels of customer satisfaction
• Engage customers for requirements analysis, document business use cases, prioritize requirements, and design custom-tailored storage solutions with Ceph
• Develop designs for storage architectures of varying scale; present product features and benefits to customers
• Answer questions using your knowledge of the Ceph system and sophisticated processes
• Work with the Engineering team and clearly communicate problems and solutions
• Develop and deliver relevant solutions, including workshops, migration tools and guides, reference architectures, and related solution collateral
• Provide product training through webinars and workshops
• Help escalate and resolve partner technical support issues
• Mentor and coach junior team members
• Frequent travel in the future will be required to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunication, and institutional customers, in line with Red Hat COVID-19 guidelines

What you will bring

• Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field
• 10+ years of IT industry experience
• 5+ years of experience with Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), system configuration, and administration
• 5+ years of experience with storage technology
• Familiarity with popular cloud operating systems, in particular Red Hat OpenStack Platform or Red Hat Openshift Container Platform
• Good understanding of DevOps tools like Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
• Solid knowledge of Python and Bash
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent combination of skills and experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of open source technologies and industry trends relating to open source
• Excellent time management, decision making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a remote office environment

Experience with the following will be considered a plus:

• Software-defined storage technology like Ceph or Gluster
• Eucalyptus, CloudStack, or VMware vSphere
