Senior Data ArchitectPosting Location : Location US-NC-RemotePosting date 1 day ago(3/24/2022 11:30 AM)Job ID 94984 Workday ID R-023924 About the job The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a Senior Data Architect to join us. In this role, as part of the master data management (MDM) initiative, you will focus on designing a scalable data architecture for the ingestion and integration of master data into our analytics environment. You ll work as part of the centralized data architecture team within the Enterprise Data and Analytics team. We are a dynamic team that collaborates with numerous colleagues and stakeholders including data engineers, data scientists, business subject matter experts, and data governance professionals who are all committed to building out outstanding data environment for data analytics. As a Senior Data Architect, you will focus on building out rapid, incremental deliverables and being able to help guide a larger data architecture vision for integrated, high-quality, timely, and well-documented data for easy consumption by our data consumers. This is a directly involved role where you will be expected to work directly with our data engineers to develop optimal data solutions. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. What you will do
• Coordinate with product managers, product owners, business analysts, and data engineers to understand requirements and create logical and physical data model designs optimized for target data environments
• Organize and design optimal data architecture and data integration and data flow designs, working directly with data engineers and data governance team
• Assist in implementing data architecture guidelines, standards and processes; educate and mentor data engineers and developers on data architecture best practices, use of guidelines, standards, and processes
• Provide architectural and development support for the implementation and rollout of the Red Hat Data Catalog as part of the MDM initiative
• Gather technical documentation and develop reference architectures, data flows and data integration, and data quality solutions designs appropriate for near real-time data needs in both operational and analytic data environments
What you will bring
• Deep data architecture experience developing context diagrams and data flow architecture diagrams
• Familiarity implementing MDM solutions, preferably with Informatica P360 and Informatica C360
• Deep data modeling and data analysis expertise in a data warehouse and analytics environment using ERWin data modeler toolset
• Excellent data analysis and data profiling background and SQL skills
• Experience with Apache Kafka and event-based data streaming
• Data warehouse and business intelligence (BI) design experience in a mixed data warehouse and data lake environment including Amazon Redshift and Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3
• Experience with data virtualization and related technologies like Starburst and Trino
• Experience designing Data APIs as part of a larger Data-as-a-Service initiative
• Direct Python coding experience
• Good knowledge of open source technologies like Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes containers
• Knowledge of or ability to ramp up quickly other open source technologies like Iceberg, Apache Superset, and FastAPI as needed
• Direct experience with Informatica data integration, data quality, and data catalog toolsets
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to work in a highly collaborative, rapidly changing, open environment
• Experience working in an agile environment and with requirements gathering, design, test, and validation techniques
• Experience with Tableau is a plus
