What you get to do in this role: The ServiceNow Service Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of Cloud Infrastructure through zero touch automation. We are looking for a leader to take us to the next level of Cloud infra scale , performance and reliability through innovations and automations. This is a very strategic position for our company. As a Senior Director of Engineering in ServiceNow s Service Engineering group you will be in a position to hire the best team possible , lead cloud infra innovation , influence product direction , define architecture and ensure quality of product. As a Senior Director of Engineering , you will be responsible for building and leading a team of engineers in the design and development of next generation of cloud infra platform and automations. You will lead by example on solving tough technical challenges and complex business problems in a high energy , startup like environment with experienced industry leaders and with a highly collaborative team. This role will require you to interface with various internal departments , understand their business needs and deliver highly reliable and easy to use solutions that enhances business efficiency. The successful candidate will have an established background in developing mission critical software solutions , a strong technical ability , excellent project management and communication skills , and a motivation to achieve results in a fast - paced environment. In order to be successful in this role , we need someone who has: Lead the Cloud Infra automation strategy and roadmap for ServiceNow. Provide thought leadership to executives across the company. Design , build and support the Cloud Infra automation for internal and external ServiceNow customers. Manage and improve the user experience of Cloud infra automation and products. Responsible for the overall software development lifecycle. Partner with System Engineering , Capacity Engineering , Customer Support , Product management , ServiceNow ITOM and platform leadership. Define the Cloud Infra automation product vision and roadmap align to Phase4 and industry including data science and machine learning to cloud infra effectiveness and agility. Define and lead Hybrid Cloud (including public cloud) strategy for ServiceNow. Define and implement policies , processes and procedures for the governance and management of data including data capture , storage , security , integration , analysis and reporting. Build a best - in - class team to scale cloud infra to meet Phase4 vision and business growth. Build multiple successors and a team that meets the business needs of the future. Drive the adoption of Cloud Infra automation amongst the user community , increase the product satisfaction and the impact. Management of resources , staffing , mentoring , and leading a best - of - class engineering team. Strong problem - solving , debugging skills and an aptitude for learning new technologies Experience developing scalable and distributed Services with Java / C / C# and experience with a scripting language JavaScript / Python / Ruby / PHP / Perl in a UNIX or Windows environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences. 10 years of experience managing software development teams delivering high quality enterprise software S or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent Desirable Experience with cloud platforms like Amazon , Azure , GCP , OpenStack Experience with ServiceNow Platform Experience working with a continuous integration continuous deployment environment Experience working with ML / AI Actual title can be determined based on fitness.
