Job Description

  • We are looking for an senior Oracle database administrator with Exadata and leadership experience to join our global DevOps team.
  • As a member of a 24x7 follow-the-sun support team this role will combine hands-on operational activities with collaboration in design and tuning discussions alongside the application production support teams.
  • This position will also assist in developing software to automate operational processes and deliver a secure, stable, and reliable plant.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • 8+ year s experience as an Oracle database administrator, all versions through 12c
  • 3+ year s experience as an Exadata database machine administrator covering all of database, operating system, and storage administration
  • Strong background in performance analysis, debugging, and tuning of an Oracle database
  • Expertise in Oracle recovery manager (RMAN); experience with ZDLRA a plus
  • Strength in at least one of the areas - Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC), Oracle GoldenGate, or Active DataGuard
  • Proficiency with Linux, shell scripting in bash or ksh, Oracle PL/SQL, and one or both of Perl and Python
  • Proven ability to understand and troubleshoot complex problems under pressure. Incident resolutions experience in a large scale operations environment is desired
  • Strong and proven prior people leadership, with ability to navigate a regional and global workforce across functions.
  • Prior experience in managing internal clients/partners
  • Analytical, client focused and risk based mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to drive projects to successful conclusion
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience
