Job Description

The Capacity Supply Chain and Provisioning (CSCP) team delivers predictable, flexible supply chain to manage scale at the lowest cost by driving efficiency through automation, long term sourcing and supply strategies.As Microsoft scales to become a global leader in cloud deployments and services, the scope of decommissioning and asset disposition requires rethinking and transformation via innovative business processes and a high degree of standardization across the entire asset value chain. We are looking for a motivated senior Process Engineer who can define processes for asset disposition, incorporating interactions across customers, partners, and various stakeholders, ensuring adherence to safety, security, regulatory and quality standards. He/she would coordinate systems development with engineering teams, bring up capacity at data centers and partner sites, and instrumenting process flows with key indicators to measure and drive processes and resources towards a high level of performance.

  • Define and deliver cloud infrastructure asset disposition process designs, and deploy predictably in our circular centers based on business needs
  • Partner with the software engineering teams to design and deploy disposition automation that will further our ability to execute to standardized processes at scale
  • Partner with datacenter and partner organizations to introduce new processes, training and resource capabilities, and ensure that measurement and audit processes are in place to drive a high standard of process performance
  • Identify critical risks to deployment of standardized processes, recommend, develop and implement solutions to mitigate those risks. Responsible for ensuring that circular center output meets commitments as defined by process design.
  • Be proactive in identifying continuous improvement areas in operational processes and act as a leader to drive resulting initiatives.

  • Demonstrated 6 sigma/continuous improvement skills.
  • Demonstrable program management skills, including ability to direct multiple programs
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to drive data based decision making
  • Knowledge of disposition processes for server and network gear components
  • Ability to work independently when required and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to work directly with customers and suppliers with little supervision
  • Proven ability to write white papers (conceptual) and detailed process documentation
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically beyond day-to-day execution
Qualifications
  • BS or equivalent degree qualification in Engineering or Quantitative fields
  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years combined experience: Industrial Engineering, Program Management, Process Engineering, Operations Management, technical/engineering role(s).
  • 3-5 years of experience with IT Asset Disposition would be preferred
  • 7+ years of experience leading and managing process engineering, operational systems and resources, and automation systems
  • Demonstrable experience in collaborating across global operations, technical engineering teams and senior leadership.
  • Expertise in common Office tools like Excel. Exposure to Power BI or SQL/database analytical tools would be a plus.
