Job Description

Core Services Engineering builds, manages the critical products, and services that Microsoft runs on. We are engineers, technology leaders and experts, digital transformation change agents, and customer advocates.Enterprise 360 (E360) within Core Platform Engineering Team (CPE) has a PM role on the OneVoice PM team. With a focus on Contact Center technology stack, the work we do has a direct impact on the way Microsoft engages with customers. You will interface with internal and external partners/customers to evangelize these technologies and foster adoption, while using customer feedback to continually improve the services. You will also have the opportunity to present the platform vision and roadmap to customers and conference audiences.Successful candidate must have great technical aptitude, great communication and cross-group skills, strong customer focus, a can-do attitude and the ability to jump in and get the job done in a fast-paced and stimulating environment.Should have a Computer Science or related degree, plus a minimum of 8 year experience in designing and delivering enterprise-class solutions, as well as familiarity with Microsoft .NET technologies (C# and the .NET Framework) and/or competitive offerings (e.g. J2EE, WebLogic or WebSphere).Customer Obsession

  • Partner with end customers & business stakeholders to identify and empathize with their unmet, articulated, and unarticulated needs. You will be expected to have deep customer connect, conduct customer interviews & feedback sessions to determine customer pain points.
Create the Vision
  • Research and benchmark against internal and external products to leverage solutions out of the box and to produce world class products and experience.
  • Partner deeply with business stakeholders and understand industry best practices. You will be expected to research the industry solutions specific to your domain & then coalesce these insights to plan and prioritize product scenarios and features.
  • Create short-term and long-term road maps for your product/service, that reflects customers prioritized needs & expectations.
Make Data Driven Decisions
  • Generate insights from data collected through telemetry, customer interactions and market research to validate or invalidate the customer needs and solution effectiveness. You will be expected to create data driven artifacts to justify the product investment decisions & use it to prioritize the work being done in the engineering teams.
Deliver Right Outcomes
  • Partner with end users , business stakeholders & software engineers to analyze requirements, make tradeoffs, propose functional designs and detail that design in Scenarios/features/ business user stories and driving the delivery to production through feature team to achieve the best outcomes for our customers, stakeholders and Microsoft.
Tell the Story
  • Evolve, articulate, and evangelize the vision and product roadmap to build support for the Digital Transformation approach across our businesses.
  • Build cross-team coordination and a community with other engineers relating to challenges & opportunities in your domain area.
  • Present to and influence senior leadership in driving strategy and investment conversations

  • 8+ years of IT/Product Engineering experience, 3 years of core software engineering experience, and 5+ years operating in a complex, multi-system environment or an online service space
  • Experience with shipping at least 2 full product releases, from release inception through live site support
  • Excellent project management skills and extensive IT project management experience with complex projects, with a track record of successful launches on time and within budget
  • Past programming experience in Microsoft technologies or- programming / customization experience
  • Excellent communication, client relationship skills, and customer experience focus
  • Demonstrated passion for quality and attention to detail
  • Effective time management in complex situations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across groups and all management levels
  • Ability to effectively deal with ambiguous situations
  • Ability to effectively communicate using multiple medias to present ideas
  • Ability to impact and influence
Other helpful skills for this position include:
  • Experience/background in Cloud and Mobile technologies
  • Hands-on working knowledge of SQL and Data Analysis
  • .NET programming experience
  • High degree of professionalism, especially when faced with critical and intense situations
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, engineering or a related field; MBA preferred
